Illustration Friday: Rain, Don't Cry

This week for Illustration Friday, the theme was Rain. So I decided to bend the concept a tincy bit and made it rain on small insignificant little yellow creatures with no shadows. I call them spring-gos. I hope to include the spring-go kind in my later illustrations. Anyways, this is basically a picture of a man or boy who has had a bad day, and the spring-gos have come to cheer him up, but had to bring their umbrellas. So I hope you realize the spring-go is a comforting spirit, it comes to you in the most dire need of comfort.

Illustration Friday: Dance, Gloria

This week I drew a picture of a girl without knowing what the Illustration Friday theme was. Finding out that it was dance I added dance shoes. Recently it was fathers day and I got my dad a collection of T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents comics. Yet I told him there was another present that would take a bit longer to give him. So I dedicate this illustration Friday, and a short story, to my dad, Leif Peng who I know deep down inside, always wanted to be a dancer. Now for the story of Gloria.

Once upon a time, in a small town, in a small house, there was a little girl named Gloria. Gloria loved to watch people dance on T.V. and liked to dance in her house. Now Gloria's family were not doing to well, her mother was a stay at home mom, and her father worked in the mines.
One day, Gloria asked her mom, "Mommy, can I get dance shoes?"
Her mother replied loudly over the sound of the sizzling frying pan, "honey, we cant get dance shoes right now"
"But why not?", Gloria asked in a pouty voice.
"We are busy trying to pay the bills". She answered as she dumped the frayed vegetables into a bowl. Gloria's head fell as she walked away.
After dinner, Gloria's father got home from work, sweating and dirty.
Gloria ran up to her dad and said, "Daddy, daddy, can I get dance shoes??? PLEASE??"
Her father fell on the chair and sighed, "not now, we still need to pay rent on the house." he said.
The next morning, Gloria's brain hatched an idea, she thought, why not earn the money?
So Gloria squeezed lemons, mixed sugar, nailed boards, and painted letters, all adding up to one lemonade stand.
The wealthy people could afford to pay one dollar for a glass, but the other ones in her predicament could only afford ten cents.
So day by day, dime by dime. Gloria added up her money until she was only three dollars short. But business was not booming. In fact, it was quieter than a ghost town at night. So Gloria asked her parents for some money.
"It's only three dollars!!!" She said
"Well, alright" her parents said at the same time, "but don't make us regret this..."
So Gloria ran downtown, into the store, and finale purchased a pair of dance shoes.
Gloria was the happiest girl in the world that day, as she stood there, her dance shoes at her side, a huge smile on her face.
I am going to be great at this, she thought.

Maniac Monday

As I promised I have a very spetial Maniac Monday today! Many people may know about the new thing happening at the AGO. Well I will explain to those who do not. What you do is you draw, paint, chalk ect a post card size portrait of yourself. Then you send it in to the AGO with a special submission form.(Go under "Exhibitions", then into "In Your Face") Then it gets put up on a wall in AGO, FOREVER!

There you go! This will soon be sent by snail mail to the AGO to sit on a wall and gather dust century upon century. Oh YEAH!

Freak Friday

This weeks freak is a strange man that seems to fancy wearing yellow suits! Say hello to my good freind Horald. No not Harold, Horald. He has had a custom sleve made for the arm growing out of his head! Unfortunatly his third leg coming out from his lower left leg tears the beautiful yellow pants! Oh the shame! Any ways, his fancy and flashy suit helps him find homes, allthough they last for less than two days. Pour old man. Next time you see Horald on the side of the road, dont pretend you did not. Pic him up, give him a home! He is a good guy.

So here you go! Another Freaky Freak. This one came from a mascot from my "tribe" (Group) in english class. He is the mascot for the Waka Naka Chaka Tribe.

So there you go. Oh ya by the way the mascot is the guy in the front thats not talking.
So there you go. But I promise I will do another freak for next Friday!

Maniac Monday

As a little treat for you. I will be posting one of my latest creations every monday. Under... MANIAC MONDAY! CRASH BANG BOOM!!!!! Also I will give you some written info on every drawing. This week I give you... My baby sitting poster! This poster was a necessary assignement for Health class. With my young 11 year old brain I thought "Why not make it interesting?". Now in this assignement WE the students had to be the parent looking for a baby sitter. It had to be cool enough that some baby sitter punk would want to look at it. So I thought "Hey every one wants cash". And that got me started. Soon enough I had my hand drawn rough copy. After that I scanned in that sukkah and coloured it in PhotoShop™, printed it out and now its waiting to go to school. On the poster you will see a guy with a red shirt that has a face on it. That's my latest guy "Joe".

Freak Friday

From now on every Friday I wil post a Freak. Like a guy with nine eyes, two heads. Stuff like that.
This week I give you my first two. They are conjoined by head and arm and both have more than two eyes. I would like to introduce you to...
Tim(Left) and Bob(Right)!

Tim being the one with the larger head is the smarter one of the brothers and Bob is smaller but geting two times as much blood. I am not sure how it works but this makes him more energetic. Thats the freak(s) of the week.

My Art in the Beginning

My name is Simon Peng. My art started as any other little kid's, just stick men floating around in the middle of a blank page. Then I started to draw facial expressions on my stick men. After a while my stick men were in a park, outside a house or in a building. Soon I got to adding names like Joe, Bob, Mike or my coolest Mr. Brongk. Soon enough I started to draw on the computer using my dad's wacom tablet as he is a professional cartoonist. In current time I am changing my guys by influence of T.V. comic books and even my dad. My drawing imagination is huge. But at times my names are not nearly as creative. As an example I made a (what I consider) very creative guy, and I named him, GUY! Any way, thats about all there is to know about my early days of art.
